Version 5.0603:
Dashboard
- The last selected day range is now retained when navigating to/from the dashboard
- We now have a groups dropdown that can be used to filter all the widgets by the selected group. The selected group is retained when navigating to/from the dashboard
- We’ve added a new widget (Saved reports) which has both the custom reports and the saved report templates. Depending on the type of report, it will either run the report or generate the PDF in a new tab
Reports
- User report: if period is enabled, the form will have the period dropdown and a specific period can be used when generating a report. It applies the selected period to all the tabs, including the visualisation (except rating tab)
- User report: we have introduced a Detailed button in Web tab to export all the details (including a timestamp) and not just the grouped data we show in the grid
- Advanced reports: the maximum date range for user based reports has increased from 30 days to 90 days
- We’ve added support to non-English characters (known UTF-8 and Unicode characters) for the PDF exports and scheduled reports
- Cohort charts: we now use same colours for the same categories and applications within the user and its cohort charts instead of using the top 10 default colours
- We now show the full student name on the slide out that shows the URL details (User report Web tab, Web report and Advanced report by URL)
- We now include the user details (first and last names) on the bar charts (top 5 in web report by group for example)
- We have modified the scroll to top behaviour in reports (when changing page numbers) to not go all the way up. It now stops just above the header row of the grid
- We have replaced the Unique websites widget on the User report with Web rating widget
- Custom reports:
- The Alerts sub-report will show the user’s full name and groups he/she is member of and hide email address field
- Admins can now see other users’ Custom Reports but can only delete them. They can’t run or generate those reports
- The Search and Video sub-reports are converted to top X style reports
- The new upper limit for all top style reports is 250
Alerts
- We have introduced hover text as help for immediate notification and auto-prioritisation
- Minor enhancement in Alerts History: when clearing high priority filter, it will reset to All
- We now show the Expired alerts with a special icon (and not just a filled red dot)
- Admins can now “migrate” alerts to other users. When admins edit an alert, they have an additional dropdown showing the supervisor (with a list of all users who have access to Alerts module) and they can move an alert rule to another supervisor. This is useful when the original creator of the rule is no longer working for the school
- As an optional add-on, Assure can now inspect chat messages and emails from both Office 365 and Google Workspace (G Suite) without any dependency on Saasyan Reciprocity
Rules
- The rules data grid now shows the following additional statuses for rules:
- Blank status: The rule was created on Assure and is in the process of being created on the firewall
- Active: The rule is active on the firewall
- Error: Assure has encountered error when creating the rule or when removing the rule from the firewall. The actual error message will be in the view
- Deleted: The rule was deleted from Assure and is in the process of being removed from the firewall
- Expired: The rule has expired and is in the process of being removed from the firewall
- Similarly, the grid in the rules history tab has the same statuses
- The edit/clone/delete actions are hidden for rules in deleted and expired state
- The view now has the removed by user and removed after expiry details
- Rules grid auto-refresh is now every 30 seconds (used to be 15)
- We have modified some of the terminology used on the forms and rules/rules history grids. Pattern will be shown as type, type as action and schedule as recurrence (and changed to yes/no toggle)
- If the “Allow Indefinite Overrides” parameter is not set by an admin, the type will be pre-set to temporary (hidden from the user). If it’s set, there will be type and the user can select Indefinite (it’s no longer called fixed) or Temporary
- Recurrence can be enabled for both indefinite and temporary rules
- We have added an optional description field for users to add notes when creating or updating rules
- We now support group based rules on the Fortigate platform
Admin
- Permissions: it is now possible for admins to add users to the permissions table by selecting from a list of existing supervisors and setting their permissions before their first login
- Words & phrases: it’s now possible to have the same word or phrase under multiple classifications
- Words & phrases: tenants can now opt in to automatically receive crowdsourced/curated words and phrases
- Classifications: When a classification is renamed, the classification set for each and every word and phrase is now renamed accordingly and when a classification is deleted, every word and phrase with the deleted classification is set to unclassified
- Classifications: we’ve made the profanity classification read only since it’s now backed by our NLP AI engine
- Classifications: we’ve combined the sexually_explicit and sexual language entries under sexually_explicit
- Settings: the slide out size is now wider than the default smaller one
- Settings: we have exposed the parameters that control the alert and report processing times for admins to modify
- User groups: for the groups dropdown in add/edit groups form, the admins can now “submit” an entered value within the search field of the dropdowns in case it’s not found in the list
- Web categories: we have “revived” the category ratings instead of risk measures. The ratings are Poor, Fair, Average, Good and Excellent. We have updated all dashboard widgets and reports to show the five ratings as opposed to numbers. Similarly, the chart in the User Report rating tab was updated
Assure Agent
- Other than VM-based and direct deployments, we now support an Agent-based deployment. The Assure Agent is an installable Microsoft Windows service which allows the Assure services running in the cloud to communicate with on-premise services without having to rely on a collector VM. The log collection will be direct with the firewall configured to send syslog directly to the cloud-based Assure log collector
Enhancements
- Bug fixes and speed improvements
- Access check is further enhanced
- We now have SSO support with additional identity providers, such as Azure AD, Cloudwork and OneLogin
- The LMS integration is further enhanced to pave the way to easily include additional features in the LTI based Rules module
- Click to filter is further enhanced and also works when the text is “chopped”
